1. Results of the tools

• FileKiwi tools are automatic. Converting, compressing or editing a file can change its quality, layout, fonts, colours, metadata, transparency, page size or other properties, and some content may be lost.
• Always check the result before you use, share or submit it, and keep your original file. We do not store your files and cannot recover them.
• Tools that compress or resize to a target size aim for that size but cannot guarantee it for every file.

2. No guarantee of acceptance

Many people use FileKiwi to prepare files for online forms, government portals, job applications, universities, banks or courts. Each of these sets its own rules. We do not guarantee that any file created with FileKiwi will be accepted by a third party. Check the current requirements of the recipient yourself.

3. AI and privacy tools

Background removal, white background, background blur and face blur use machine learning models that run on your device. They can miss parts of an image or remove too much. Face blur does not guarantee anonymisation. People may still be recognisable from their hair, clothes, tattoos, reflections, surroundings, other photos or file metadata, and text, number plates and screens are not blurred automatically. Review every result carefully before you publish or share it, and remember that publishing images of people may require their consent.

4. Digitally signed and protected documents

Editing, merging, splitting, compressing or converting a PDF that contains a digital signature, a certificate or form fields can invalidate the signature or change the document. Do not process signed legal, financial or official documents unless you know the consequences.

5. Guides and information

Our blog and help texts are for general information only. We check them carefully and update them when things change, but operating systems, apps and file formats change often, and we cannot guarantee that every detail is complete, current or suitable for your situation. Nothing on FileKiwi is legal, financial, medical or other professional advice.

FileKiwi is an independent service by BDK Media. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any company whose products or formats are mentioned on the site. Apple, iPhone, iPad, macOS and Safari are trademarks of Apple Inc. Microsoft, Windows, Word and Edge are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. Adobe and Acrobat are trademarks of Adobe Inc. Google, Android and Chrome are trademarks of Google LLC. Firefox is a trademark of the Mozilla Foundation. All other trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.

8. Limitation of liability

The service is provided as is and as available. Our liability is limited as described in sections 13 and 14 of our Terms of Use, which do not affect rights that cannot be limited under mandatory law.
